The Bellwether Revivals is the debut novel of UBC alumnus Benjamin Wood.
The Bellwether Revivals tells the story of Oscar Lowe, a young man who works in a nursing home in Cambridge. At the novel’s outset Oscar meets, and quickly falls for, a young woman named Iris Bellwether, whose brother, Eden, is a composer who believes he can heal people through music.
“What I wanted to do was write a novel that explored interesting themes, interesting ideas, conflicts between faith and doubt, science and religion, but also one that had a compelling story and a sense of suspense,” explains Wood.
